Getting around & routes
The full 46 km typically takes about 4 hours at an easy pace, plus time for café stops and photos. If you’re new to cycling or it’s breezy, allow extra time.
It depends on your plan:
- Waterford City: river paths, Mount Congreve, Kilmeaden Train (10–12 km options).
- Kilmacthomas: perfect halfway base; go 23 km either way.
- Dungarvan: sea views, Durrow Tunnel, Railway Cottage Café.
- New Ross (coming soon)
Yes. It’s off-road, mostly flat, and well signposted, with plenty of places to stop. We can kit families with buggies, kids’ seats, and tag-alongs, too.
Absolutely.
- Dungarvan → Durrow Tunnel (12 km each way) — tunnels, viaduct views, summer coffee stop.
- Waterford → Mount Congreve (10 km each way) — gardens and café.
- Kilmacthomas → Durrow Tunnel (12 km each way)
- Kilmacthomas → Railway Cottage (18 km each way) — bridges, views, easy lunch stop.
